According to the World Health Organization (WHO), when accompanied by excessive weight gain later in childhood, malnutrition is associated with increased risk of nutrition-related chronic disease, such as diabetes, heart disease and certain types of cancer. And it’s happening all over the world.

The relationship between malnutrition and overweight/obesity is more than a coexistence. Malnutrition early in life – and even in utero – may predispose a person to becoming overweight and developing noncommunicable diseases such as diabetes and heart disease later in life, the WHO adds.

When you support the Nutrilite Power of 5 Campaign, you’re helping malnourished children around the world survive, thrive and grow. You’re also helping protect them against long-term health problems that can be associated with malnutrition like stunted growth, obesity and other chronic conditions. Helping these children live better lives will also help their communities build a better future.
