Healthy Results in Indonesia

| Jul 18, 2020

We celebrate the many partners that work with us to help malnourished children in Indonesia survive, thrive and grow. In 2020, we’re projected to support over 12,000 children in six areas of Jakarta, Pekalongan, Palu/Donggala, and Sumba, while welcoming new programs in Lombok and Sumba Barat Dava yet this year.

Many locations host an annual workshop to educate parents and caregivers about the importance of nutrition, Nutrilite™ Little Bits™, and the Power of 5 Campaign. Attendees typically include public health officers, hospital managers, pediatricians, nutritionists, community workers, teachers, parents and children. Building awareness within communities is very helpful in the fight against malnutrition.

Many thanks to Munafah Asip Kholbihi, the First Lady of Pekalongan, and her team who sent us this video message about how the Power of 5 is helping nearly 1,000 malnourished children in her area. Results show that 95.8 percent of those children have increased their height and weight. Program managers believe the results are so high because monthly health evaluations gave children’s parents extra motivation to follow instructions given by their Health Community Staff.
