Going Beyond Nutrition
Amway and the Nutrilite Power of 5 Campaign are being honored for working to improve nutrition, health and wellness through cleaner water. The Award for Excellence comes from the Water Quality Association (WQA), a US-based trade organization dedicated to promoting the importance of clean water around the world.
The WQA says Amway and the Nutrilite Power of 5 Campaign were a perfect fit for the award, which recognizes a critical aspect of the campaign – together with our partners, we support programs that provide far more than nutrition.
As mentioned in the 2017 Impact Report, Amway works with 21 different non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and 3 government agencies to provide education about health, nutrition and hygiene; safe water access; skills training to help boost a family’s economic status; and supplemental food. Our long-term goal is to create sustainable behavior changes that benefit entire families as well as malnourished children.
To date, on-the-ground programs associated with the Power of 5 Campaign have directly supported over 100,000 children with nutrition, hygiene and safe water. And more than 250,000 family members have benefitted too. Specific programs vary from country to country depending on the NGO partnership and the local needs.
