Amway India wins national honor for their Power of 5 programs
The Power of 5 Campaign was built on the idea of teamwork. And we would like to offer our thanks to the many Amway Business Owners, market-based teams, and employees who continue to come together to help fight childhood malnutrition around the world. You are making a tremendous difference in the lives of thousands of children and their families and your generosity will continue to grow as these malnourished children become healthier adults.
As an example of how people in our markets are making a difference, the Corporate Social Responsibility team at Amway India coordinated a community-based nutrition education program that benefitted 10,000 children and 30,000 parents and caregivers from August 2019 to September 2020. The program was so successful that they plan to continue it in as many locations as possible across the country.
This initiative focused on creating awareness of the issue of childhood malnutrition and implementing a behavioral shift among mothers and community members in Kirari, an urban slum and resettlement colony in North-West Delhi.
The “Power of 5 – A Community based Nutrition Education Program” was recently recognized by the prestigious CSR Times Award 2020 as the Best Corporate in Eradicating Malnutrition at the seventh national CSR e-summit – a highly prestigious national award. Elements of the program included education about nutrition and practices of complementary feeding, hygiene, growth monitoring, and dietary diversity. MAMTA- Health Institute for Mother and Child served as the implementation partner.
We are so proud of the work being done by the team at Amway India and offer our enthusiastic congratulations. We are looking forward to partnering with other market teams to make contributions in their countries. Together, we can help more malnourished children live better, healthier lives.
